Three BENUE communities, Agura, Tse Dau,d and Baugudu in Turan in Kwande local government areas, have been attacked by suspected armed herdsmen in the wake of last Saturday Morning.

The armed herders also attacked three other communities, Gusa, Ihember, and Annune, in Mbadura council ward, same Kwande local government areas, razed down property and destroyed food stuffs which left over hundred residents displaced from their homes.

The attack took place between last Saturday and Monday of this week, when newsmen visited the villages in company of SEMA boss, operation whirl stroke, security adviser on internal affairs, civil defence and the police to ascertain the situation.

Relics of the burnt houses were scene as those displaced were taking refuge in nearby communities.

Some of the displaced residents confirmed this to newsmen at the scene of one of the incident, including the special Adviser on security and internal affairs Joseph Har, and permanent secretary Ministry of Humanitarian affairs and disaster management Joseph IORPUU, that twelve people were killed, four critically injured, two motorcycles burnt and twenty four houses burnt leaving several others.
