The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has handed over 59 rescued kidnapping victims to the Kaduna State Government at the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja’s Three Arms Zone today.
During the handover, Malam Ribadu revealed that the rescue operation was the result of a joint effort by all security agencies, led by the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna. He emphasized that the coordinated operations followed President Bola Tinubu’s directive to intensify efforts to secure the release of kidnapped victims.
The Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Gold Chibuisi, reaffirmed their collaboration with the NSA in executing the presidential directive to secure the victims’ freedom.
Similarly, the Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre, Major General Garba Laka, disclosed that some of the victims had been held captive for four months.
He added that the victims had been abducted from different parts of Kaduna, and sustained military pressure forced the kidnappers to flee, leaving the hostages behind.
